95 blazer check engine light

the light has just come on and the temperature gauge isn't showing the engine warming up...any suggestions??

I've got a couple ideas, but first go to autozone and get them to pull the codes.

also, the gauge is not going higher than a 1/4?

I've got a couple ideas, but first go to autozone and get them to pull the codes.Had same problem with my 95'. Code reader at my local garage indicated no problem. Installed new thermostat. Corrected problem.Temperature should read around 210 degrees. Also had same problem on my 2000'.

If the Check engine light is on there is a code. It may not have anything to do with the temp problem, but there is a code. This one is probably a P0117.

As far as the temp problem, if the code is indeed a P0117 the problem is more likely a bad sending unit or wire connection. If the code is unrelated it could be a number of things, it could be the thermostat, sending unit, gauge, or the wire that connects them.
