This morning my wife called me from work because our lumina wouldnt start. So I went to her work got in and, the car fired up just fine. We brought the car home, went out to start it again and nothing. I turn the key and nothing happens. No clicking, no turning, nothing other than the lights going on.
I was thinking it might be a loose plug cable, we had this happen once before last year and it was a loose plug cable, but after replacing the plug cables the car still wont fire up. I don't think it's the battery because all the lights, radio, and all work just fine.
I don't think it's the chip in the security key because when I try to turn it over the security light comes on for about 10 seconds, then goes back off.
I'm stumped! Why would the car start perfectly earlier in the day then, not start at all now. Why is it that when I turn my key the engine does nothing at all? Please help!!!!

I tried to start it this morning and still nothing. I cleaned the ground up. Gave the starter a few good taps still nothing. Weird thing is the engine tries to turn when the car is in neutral. But in park I get nothing. Can anybody please help. I'm just dumbfounded here!

Try holding over to start while you move the shifter through the ranges. Maybe nuetral safety switch going wonko.
