Guage Illumination

1991 z28, 305 tpi...had my guages start to fade out on me (the speedo) just a little bit, now i lost illumination for my voltage and fuel. everything still works fine, its just that those two are faded out now and parts of my speedo too, like someone dim'd the lights. im thinking if it was a fuse they would all go out or something but if anyone know what might've caused this and how to fix plz let me know.

Does the headlight knob have any effect on how faded it is?

yes it still dims the lights, but the affected areas remain darkened...

Sounds like its just some bulbs on there way out or possible loose connection to me but never had that problem myself. Mine have stayed lit or went completely out in the past and it was just a blown bulb. Good Luck. Hope its a easy fix.

ok....so does anyone know how to take my guages out? i just got off the phone with some guy from pep boys (lol) and he told me its going to involve taking out my radio bezel? id like to do this as painlessly as possible, any ideas?

take out radio?? i dont know about that, if yr car is anything like my 89, all u gotta do islike un-do like 8 or something screws, but they arent regular screws, they are those star shaped screws, if you know what im talkin about, kinda like allan, but just slightly different. i never had to change bulbs, but id imagin just take off that front panel, then u can probably figure it out.
