I am no mechanic but have always been able to change the headlamps and tail/brake lights on my vehicles. I am having a hard time finding out how to change the brake light on my Taurus. Can't seem to get to it from the outside or inside. I hate to go to the dealer and spend $50 to get a bulb changed. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

you would be better off asking in the taurus forums, not the OT forums.

:disappoin Thanks for answering, but I would rather have had a solution.

there's some tabs in the inside of the trunk lining, pull the plastic cores out of them with a screwdriver and then pull the whole tab out. The trunk lining will then be easily removable and the bulbs can be accessed.

I have a 97 Sable, it's most likely similar. Open the trunk and remove the liner from around the rear. There are plastic clips holding the liner in place. Once the liner is out you should see the nuts holding the lens assembly in place. There are more than you may think so don't get hasty and pull too hard on the lens assy. One is behind the rear wheelwell and that one took me a while to find, I had to remove the liner near the CD player. Once you remove the lens assy you just twist the bulb holder to remove the bulb. Replace the bulb(s) and reinstall. Good luck.....

Thank you. I also got some tips on changing the bulbs from Auto Zone. Going to to it over the weekend. Appreciate your help!
