Since winter is boring i want to paint my wheel center caps. I bought these used and the kid prior to me remove the pink part shown in the pic below.. While i dislike that color too, what color should i paint the pink outter part? I am planing on keepin the gold shown in the bottom pic for the under part of the cap..

I was leaning towards white, silver, black or deep red. Just don't know which one.

well what theme do you have? like white and red? white and blue? paint them the opposite of white but keep the theme, and do your calipers the same color.

here is an idea. Before you paint them get some electrical/insulation tape in the colours you are considering and then lay it on the centre and look to see which you prefer. then clean the adhesive off before you paint!! Then you will know which YOU prefer before you commit to paint!!!

ok sorry technoboy! Thought maybe you'd want to do something like cutting tape in the freezing weather instead of in the warmth of the house on the pooter!

Everything is covered in snow here and today I saw a 91 (or equiv) Civic HB kitted, lowered about 3" on 17" motegi in the snow. Thats the kind of fuckin idiot. He had huge white brake dics that completely filled his rims. Unless that was snow!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

The wheels are rare to find... and no longer made by the people who made mine. Also the caps tend to be different in size.. I'll stick to what i am doin.

match the color of your car

This is a big thing imo. Sometimes the smallest details say the most. Run your photoshop and overlay some cool gold filligree over black. Your initials would look nice kinds scrolled.

First of all Tinsel??? What the hell lol and the guy that told you they were originally a type of red is probably correct but its oxidized not anodised or w/e he said.
Also doing your rotors is a great idea. I have never seen a car with a/m rims yet that didn't bring more attention and a better look to them by accenting their rotors.
Doing a theme color that'll match the inside which was suggested is a mistake and not highly appreciated in shows. Guys don't color coordinate their pants to their boxers....girls alot of times have the matching thing going on but it's a custom "don't" on cars.
White on rims looks good on some cars but I don't see it on yours. My opinion.
I think doing black is an easy fix and you can't go wrong but it sounds like you don't wanna settle for "Oh I just decided to paint them black." Which I wouldn't wanna do either so thats your call.
Ebaying and getting a bunch of them sounds retarded would would want to have rainbow wheel caps????
The dude that said run your photoshop and check it out that way has the best idea that's what I would do, its a great idea and would be the most efficient to help you make a good decision for something that you'll be happy with. The guy that said to check it out with an electrical tape is someone i would introduce as; "Hey, this is my friend "steve" ....no it's ok he's just -borderline retarded-" wow....
Well that's my 411 on the deal, I hope I helped out atleast some. I think it's a sweet looking car and don't want to see you do something stupid that would mess up the look. Outrageous accents will jack it up the more subtle the better. For me...I would powder coat the caps and do a ghost/smoke black over some silver. It's not as crazy expensive as someone would think and it's definitely a conversation piece which makes some (sometimes) lame rims worth talking about. good luck man

couple things, the whole tinsel and insulation tapes posts were jokes! Also they are probably plastic and in order to properly powdercoat (unless you want the gritty texture) require it to be bakes! Well platic doesn't stand up to well to being made hot. Not a dig just a reply.
In addition anodising is a process nothing to do with oxidation! and it would more likely be sun caused fading! They are more then likely plastic which doesn't oxidise!
