Help W/ Electrical Please

Hi,
I have been having some problems with my electrical system and I am open to any suggestions. A couple months ago I put in a Pioneer head unit, and my car worked fine. About a month ago i put two 10" subs in w/ a 500W Max amplifier and the lights started to dim along with the beat. I then installed a Tsunami 1.2 farad cap, and the problem is still a problem. I have a feeling i need a hi-amp alternator, but that is the reason I bought the cap, to avoid a new alternator. I am open to any suggestions to try and fix this problem.

I'm no expert on stereo systems but I would install a second battery with an isolator immeadiatly before the positive post.

A high amp alternator will help some with a single battery but the ideal is a second battery with a big alternator.

I am a proffesional car audio installer, and believe me.....a second battery will only worsen your problem. A second batter requires more charging power and therfore will definetly need a bigger alternator. A capacitor will improve you instantaneous current draw, nut not if there is an existing problem with you charging system. At this point, if the cap didn't help, you're looking at a new alternator or primary battery. NOT a second one. Most likely an alternator. And since you're getting a new alternator, why not upgrade to a higher output one.

What about double checking your grounds? YOu might try running a seperate wire to have a good definate ground. Also, might look into the Optima batterys to handle your system demands and the vehicle demands.

I checked my ground and it turns out that I didn't ground it very well. I regrounded it on a different bolt and that worked out for me.
