1991 Grand am It is always the easy jobs that I have problems with. I am trying to figure out how to remove the backup strip to replace a burnt out lamp. Haynes manual is absolutely no help.

I'm not 100% sure on the backup lights, but it you remove one of the taillights which is held in by 2 screws which can be found along the top sill of the fiberglass panel, right where the trunk lid close on it, If you remove those 2 screws then slide the brake light out, you should be able to access the backup bulbs, if not Look inside your trunk, you'll see a whole bunch of plastic wing nuts, Just start removing them, the whole rear panel will come off then.
