in dash dvd

just wondering if anyone here has an in dash dvd player AS WELL AS an aftermarket cd player in the stock location. If so, where did you end up mounting the dvd headunit?

right now i have mine bracketed right above my shifter column, where theres that empty space under the bigg lighter and ash tray. However, today i was rippin apart the interior, and was wondering if anyone has taken their ash tray and cigg lighter out and cut those two holes to be one big hole. i believe it will fit a single DIN size. If not, i'm just trying to get ideas before i hack at this thing. Otherwise i guess i'll just do it. tryin to get everything clean looking. no visible wires, etc...

i think the CRX console is the best for something like that

yeah, but i already got this one molded up for my screen, so im tryin to save by modding it for this too. i toyed around with the idea of removing the climate controls, but i have no idea where i would relocate them to.

lol, thats molded open with my 7.5 widescreen in it. too late, but good thinking. above that will be cut for the xbox so thats out too. just in case you were thinking ......

well, cant do any of the last two options simply because i live in VA. Va is hoprrible, i cant have anything line of sight and both of those are considered line of sight. its just a hassle if the right cop sees you, you know? thats why i got the screen over in front of the passenger

jer has the 94-97 integra console/armrest. he relocated his heater controls to be right above the cup holder. then he went fiberglass crazy and made a double din opening for a monitor above the relocated heater controls. right now he has his deck and a pocket installed so he doesn't have a big hole.

well tonite i took out the lower portion to the stock center console and installed the dvd unit in there. Now its time to hack open where the ash tray and cigg lighter used to sit and make that a din size. i will take some pics tomorrow and show everyone.

is it a screen or is it a fold out t.v. screen?

its a separate screen, with a slot loading dvd HU

im sorry i know i said pics tonite, but it snowed here today and im too warm to go back outside. i promise to take them tomorrow.

i have to put the screen in the glovebox or somewhere low profile out of line of sight for the va cops. so anywhere closer than the edge of the passenger seat basically means a no go, unless its low, i.e. underneath the cd player location right above the shifter column, angled towards the passenger. but theres not enough room for that, so glovebox is my best bet.

just move to florida, they don't care bout it here :)

yeah, i wish, i spent two summers in Ft. Walton Beach with my cousins, got a freakin hott ex in Panama City and friends in Pensacola. I miss it so much...... VA is so horrible, seriously....
