my 93 i thought it was the piston rings that were bad but i took it to a shop and they told me it was the valves were worn i was wondering if this was very common and is it possible to get a carb. off an older suzuki swift and put it my geo and maybe get rid of some of the electronic stuff on it ive heard these engines are used on ultra light airplanes i was womdering if to do this you have to bring the computer along with the motor to make it run i would like to eleminate as much of the electrical stuff on my geo as possible

the fuel injection on the geo is a lot less complicated and more dependable than the sprint carb setup, you have about 5 hoses on the metro, the sprint has about 30 and almost as many electronics. the head on the metro seem to be the weak point, they like to burn exaust valves and warp intake valves. rather than rebuilding the head just buy one of the JDM motors for $300-$400 and replace it

I was just looking on yahoo at geoengines.htm and they have geo motors (1.0l) 89-94 for $370.00
Just type in used geo motors or geo motor on yahoo and you will get quite a few sites
