Hi y'all
The front speed sensors on my 2000 1/2 ton silverado need to be cleaned. my dealer wants almost $175.00 per side. I would like to do this myself . Have any of you guys done this? How hard is it? any tips
or tricks that could help me out? It looks like I will need to remove the calipar and rotor and may be able to get at the sensor at that point by
removing the allen screw that holds it on. Is this corect or is it more involved? Any help will be very helpfull THANKS !!

yip your right on track you'll also have to remove the caliper mounting bracket also, the sensor is retained to the hub by one screw: remove the the screw and pull the sensor straight out (dont pry on it) once out you can use something like carb cleaner or brake cleaner with an old soft brissle tooth brush for stubborn deposits ,good luck dont quote me on the solvent to use ask your dealer if it's safe on the sensor first! i call that CYA cover your azz

Hey Thanks!
Thats what I was wondering. Is the break calipar held on by the 3 bolts
you can see from the inside? Do you usualy have to heat the clipar body around where the bolt threads into it? Another thing, it looks like the top balljoint excess threads hang down in front of the top calipar mounting bracet bolt do you just trim this off? Should I also clean the part that the sensor is reading off of? or just the sensor itself? Thanks again for your help.
