Hey guys
i was just wondering if it would be worth the money to get a cold air intake for a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro. i have already had the car chipped, and im looking to put some more performance mods on it.
also if i put a good cat-back exhaust on, would it sound like a ricer? bc that would suck. or would it improve the sound of the engine and put off a nice louder sound?
suggestions would be great!
also include any sites for finding these parts.

ok first what do you mean by chipped, cuz if its a resiter module its a waste,2nd an intake is alot less resrtictive than the stock airbox so yes that will let more and colder air into your engine which will sound alot better,3rd an exhaust will sound cool they alwasy do leave the resinator in and it wont be as loud,my advise is to go to a local ehaust shop and have them mandrel bend some pipe for you and then buy a muffler,it is alot cheaper this way,ok cool bye

i have an apr chip for my car. and i agree with you about the intake. but for the exhuast im going to get a full catback system bc just getting pipe and muffler is not that great, and wont last as long. as thats what alot of ricers do

there is no such thing as a cold air intake for an a4... its gonna be a hot air intake regardless..unless you are gonna spend the time to make a badass heat shield..stick with the stock intake setup..very efficient....
if you do go for a cone filter..I personally wouldnt bay the $200+ for the intakes they have out there when you can basically do the same thing with just a filter on the maf and a custom heat shield..

my opinion on modifying audis is go big or go home...i know its a stupid phrase but it applies very well in this case...if you were driving a civic and wated to replace the intake then it would make a difference...but ive talked to a lot of people who say the only good thing about getting a new intake on an A4 is for the sound...even people selling the intakes claim only a 3-5 hp increase...but when it comes down to it they only can sell them because people want to sound...same thing with the exhaust...audis are not make with low quality parts...theyre engineered to be good cars through and through...so my opinion for your upgrades are to not waste the money on those things until you start pumping out 250 hp unless you want them for the sound...so what should you do...turbo upgrades...i dont know a lot about them but there have been plenty of posts about them so just search around...i hope ive been helpful
