I recently purchased a pyle radio for my son's 1989 chevy celbrity 4 door. I was able to remove the original rado. I had purchased the electrical harness kit, and the mounting housing that were recommended. However, the wiring is not lining up properly. From the radio to the harness, the wires are as follows: red:red; yellow:yellow; black:black; blue:blue; grey:grey; grey:grey; purple:purple; purple:purple; gray:gray; grey:grey; white:white; white:white; open:orange. So far, no big problem. However, from the harness to the car the wires are as follows:
purple:blue; purple:yellow-blue; green:yellow; green:yellow brown; white:grey; white:tan; grey:green; grey:dark green; blue: open; orange:grey; red:yellow; black: open; yellow: open.
As you can see the colors of the wires are not compatible. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your input. Someone suggested that I check to make sure that the red and yellow wires coming through the harness are hot, I should be O.K. That is my next task. Let me know if you have any input. Thanks!

When I installed a headunit into a celebrity about 5 years ago I just snipped and recrimped everything. It's definitely alot more work to do and to reverse though. All you need to find is your 12v source, 12v ignition, ground, and 8 speaker wires(+/-). If you are willing to do this - find your power and ground, and from there its just trial and error for the speakers.
