How much does a used CJ8 run now? Are they decent?

It depends on where you are. The CJ8 was sold in Canada and the US in 1980 and '81 only (Jeep Scrambler) but they are much more common in some overseas markets.
They are rare and desireable, so they fetch a bit more than an equivalent condition CJ7.
As for being 'decent'.....they are identical to a CJ7, except for the longer wheelbase. So. like a CJ7, they are crude, rough, uncomfortable, mechanically simple and easy to fix and excellent off road.
The longer wheelbase provides a slightly better ride, much more useful cargo space and better towing capacity. Sure the longer wheelbase compromises off road ability slightly but you would have to do some pretty extreme off roading to really be affected by this.
I prefer the CJ8 to the CJ7, so I bought one.

So will the aftermarketparts for CJ-7 fit the CJ-8. Lift kits and the like? and how big of bitch is it to fit a 350 down in their? thanks for any help. :thumbsup:
