Enzo Rosso Corsa C/F decals problem

I got the Rosso Corsa Version of the Tamiya Enzo, but Im having problems with the tamiya C/F decals included in this kit.
They dont seem to stick to the surface you put them on. Almost impossible to get a decent decal application since the glue never attaches. I've tried soaking them for different amount of time, warm, cold water, light sanding of the surface underneath, but nothing seems to help.

Any Ideas ?

Anyway beware of this if you are concidering the Rosso Corsa version. I guess I can use the templates printed on the back of the C/F sheet for cutting new decals from another C/F sheet, but other than that they seem pretty useless to me..

No I haven't. Thanks for the tip. It's not too easy to find where I live though..

You should try them. SET correct this problem while SOL help to apply decal on complex surface. They are also very cheap

The Tamiya CF decals that came in my Enzo worked perfectly. I used a hairdryer to get them to conform. They react well to heat, and I didn't have a problem with them not sticking.

MJ Hobbyexperten (http://www.mjhobby.se) or Wentzels has Microscale's products. MJ is a bit cheaper than the other.

If decals aren't adhering you can use white PVC wood glue to make them stick. Just add a tiny drop to the surface, swirl/dilute it down with some water and apply the decal over the top. Will leave a residue that you can clean off with a damp cloth once the decals have dried out a bit.

Quite strange you've having these problems with Tamiya decals which usually have pretty good quality control. How long are you immersing them in water? Not long enough so they float off the backing paper I hope.

Im applying them as soon as they will let go of the backing paper. (I've tried different amounts times aswell) Never had any problems with tamiya decals before so I'm a bit puzzeled here.

Might try the wood glue or hairdryer trick, or get some micro set/sol..

You didn't say whether you painted the parts prior to decalling. Decals should be applied to painted surfaces for best adhesion, if you are trying to apply them to unpainted parts, the problems you described could come up. - Mark

Ahh, that could actually be the problem !
I have only tried to attach decals on the bare plastic (thoroughly washed to avoid any release agents from the factory though..)
I have to try to painting first!

Glad to help, and I'm sure you know to use at least a semi gloss if not a gloss paint.
A very light coat of clear gloss lacquer will do the trick and dry quickly. - Mark
