can anyone tell me the possible problems i have. There is a whole on the bottom of my 69 bug which all bugs have, and it leakes brake fluid. The whole is before the tranny and its in the center of the car. i dont know where the fluid is coming from, but i think it may be from my master cylinder. any help?

About the only way fluid can get into the center tunnel is from the master cylinder. Pull back the rubber boot in front of the brake pedal & see if it's wet there too.

It's not that I doubt what you're saying, but are you absolutely sure it's brake fluid? Could it be transmission fluid? Are your brakes spongy and the fluid in your reservoir is going down? I'm still not totally oriented to where this hole is that you mentioned. There is a brake line that runs within the tunnel of the car; along with your accelerator cable and clutch cable. On my '66, the brake line in the tunnel broke and I had to run an external line to 'feed' the back brakes.

Thanx boschman my master cylinder was squirting fluid when the brake pedal was released, i thought it was the line the leads to the rear pasenger brake so i replaced it but it had still leaked. im going to buy a new master cylinder, are what kind should i get and is it expensive?

They're widely available on the aftermarket & inexpensive.
