no start

in the last few months we have had trouble starting . Turn key but no ignition . we would try pushing the key in harder and holding as it was turned and would get ignition . then it quit altogther . I can hear the fuel pump coming on and that is it . I pulled the starter had it tested and it passed with flying colors although it was sounding a little worn , so i put in a new starter , still no ignition,NO SOLENOID CLICK OR STARTER TURN . I replaced the ignition switch and the clutch switch ...still nothing . then my key cylinder froze up...so I drilled that out and put in a new one at a cost of $85 , its the third one I might add ! That cylinder works better now than when I paid ford to do the other one. I HAVE GONE OVER THIS THING WITH A CIRCUIT TESTER AND ALL THE CIRCUITS I CAN FIND TEST FINE . Including testing all fuses in the engine and passenger compartments as well as the plug ins on the wiring harness AND SWITCHES (UPPER AND LOWER CLUTCH SWITCHES ) . I have power to my starting solenoid and a solid unbroken ground .I HAVE TESTED THE RELAYS AND THEY ARE FINE .

i HAVE A QUESTION : ARE THERE ANY ELECTRICAL CONTACTS IN THE STEERING COLUMN , WHEN I HAD THE KEY CYLINDER OUT , I PULLED OUT THE PLUNGER AND SPRING AND THE PIN AND SPRING AND LOOKED AROUND WITH A PEN LIGHT AND THOUGHT I SAW SOME SORT OF CONTACT, OTHERWISE WHERE ELSE CAN MY PROBLEM BE ..IGNITION COIL ? PCM? DIODE ...AND WHERE WOULD I FIND THE DIODE ?

Sounds like the last thing to look at is the ignition coil. Otherwise i'd say you're pretty much screwed... what year is your Focus and how many miles/kilometers are on the thing???
