used car headaches!

my wife's friend has just bought a 99 GA 2.4L(V6)? I test drove it and I noticed it has a bad cv joint in the turn. Also I typed in a clicking noise coming form the CD player area. I did not get any hits back on the search. Hoping that anyone would be able to direct me on this problem. Shge has a warranty w/ a $50 ded and she has to go back tomorow for them to replace a couple of items on the car. The fan doesn't turn on until you hit #4 and 5. Seems strange to me when I was driving the car that the headlights were on for about ten seconds after I shut the car off. I'm thinking it could be the timer, but just wanted to check. Drives good better than my POS stratus! I'm glad I got rid of that death trap! Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thank you!

it also has 88,000 miles onit

the headlight thing is normal. The fan problem is a common one. It's the resistor gone bad.
