4-6 inches? is this for show? If so an airbag suspension would probably be the best. If not you could go with a coil over setup.

The wheel gap isn't anywhere near 6"... I reccomend looking into intrax since they have the largest drop (1.5-1.75") among the name brands I know of. Please don't go rice.

Hmm, would lowering it a little bit to reduce wheel gap acutally be considered "going rice"? I just thought it'd look better a little lower, and would prob help with aerodynamics..... I'm open to all thoughts tho, keep em comin, thanks ^_^

Oh, to answer your question it's not for like any type of contest, just somethin I kinda wanna do. Like tons of other things I wanna do to my car, gotta figure out what I wanna do first when I have the money.

i wouldnt do more than a 2-1/2 inch drop.. i think u can pull off a 3 inch drop with some coil overs. the wheel gap on these cars is only 3 inches

It was the huge lowering you said you wanted and the horn thing that made me think rice (honestly do you use your horn enough to justify geting a vanity one?). Just don't go past about 3" and it should still look and handle sharply, the areodynamics are not what people do it for but your right in that lowering it will help by creating more downforce due to restricted airflow under the car and the same airflow over the car, you can get a similar effect by geting sideskirts and a front bumper that are 'taller'.

your best bet are the ground controls from www.3sxperformance.com
bear in mind though, when you lower the rear anymore then 1 inch, it will set your rear camber off and you will wear out your rear tires very quickly. To get around this, you will have to buy and install adjustable control arms that 3sx also sells, or some local board members from 3si might sell as well.

Hotshot, is it necessary to get the adjustable control arms? can't you just get the rear tires re-aligned at an alignment shop?

Wow, this is tons of information, and exactly what I was looking for. The 6 inch drop is way too much, I went and looked again, I think 6 was a close random number that I just typed tho.... Thanks to everyone who gave their info, you people are the ones who make this forum so great. I'm thinking only a 1.5 inch drop or so will look good. Putting side skirts on it wouldn't work to rid wheel gap. As far as the rear tires wearing out, is there any way besides those bars to prevent that? An alignment job was mentioned, will that not suffice? I gotta new avatar, took that pic last night with my phone... :naughty:

I agree with hotshot as I've heard ground control are the best for the money and are easily adjusted as well.
Also I'm sure you can think of other things to spend money on other than the horn man.
I don't know why rice came up? Maybe its those green neons you've got

At 1.5 inches you might be able to get away without buying the bars... but there isn't much thread on the camber adjustment arm on the stock setup so it's a bit of a gamble.

i dont know if you can just get the rear ones aligned, you'd have to find out, but i wouldnt think it would be thats all you have to do, or else everyone on 3si would be just doing that instead of buying rear adjustable control arms

no, once you go past something like 2 inches on the rear you need to get the adjustable camber plates in the back. The stock suspension setup was made adjustable up to a point, when you dip down close to 2 inches or so you max out the degree to whci you can set the neggative camber. (negative camber is setting the bottom most of the tire in towards the center of your car, possitivve camber is setting it out away from from the car.) Adjustable camber plates give ya more flexability for higher degree + and - camber. I dont know what kind of spring drops are available. I do know Eibach pro kit is 1.2 in the rear and 1.5 in the back. Groundcontrol is very adjustable and for max drop go with DropZones which are like 2.2 inch drops. the lower you go the more stress you put on your shocks. Damper reffers to how deep the shock compresses. remember that springs serve to decide the height of your car and upon shock return it to that height. shocks decide how fast the car dips down and back up to its regular ride height. if you lower the car too much on stock or cheap shocks you might max out the damper and cause the shock to opperate at max or close to max dampering and waste the hell out of them. dont sacrifice performance for looks. I know you want your car to look baddass but at what cost? with shitty suspension you might do more damage. also to close the gap why not get bigger rims and up the wall size of your tire. I have 17" rims, 45mm walls and 1.2 inch and 1.5 inch drops and my gap is 2.5 inch, barely three finger gap. its got a mean stance and can corner hard without ever bottoming out. with 18 rims and 40 wall size you can probably get a 2 inch gap. with a ground control kit you can adjust it to 1.3 inch gap and still not affect camber.
