Best late 90's model ?

I have two 1986 735I's and they have been great cars. In the next six months I am going to buy something newer. What is the best overall late 90's model BMW. Thanks Autogunner.

Personally Ide take a 03 540 with a sport package. But for reliability the straight 6's go for ever. Possibly a 3 series with a straight 6 in it might be better for fuel economey and its more of a compact car other then the 5's. But the 5's ar emore luxarious and more appealing IMO.
