cluster in 92 gp

My instrument cluster is one of those without most gauges (it has fuel, temp, and speedo) and I hate to just depend on the idiot lights. Will it work to take the cluster that I like - there is one I found in the junkyard on a lumina - and put in my car (92 GP SE)?

I saw my service engine light come on this morning for about a minute while the engine was cold, and I like to see what the gauges say the next time that it comes on, sometimes it'll give a hint about why the light came on in the first place.

Thanks for the help.

Well, since nobody felt like they could answer me, I'll just spend the 30-40 bucks next weekend and find out myself.

I will let y'all know how it turns out.

If you haven't done this yet. It will work, but I can only confirm that it will work if you get the cluster out of a 2 door Grand prix. I made the switch last year and everything worked perfectly, however I have to cut a little square out of the plastic so I could slip in the shift indicator.

you'll also need to replace the engine sensors with ones for a guage, as they are different for idiot lights. I would cut the harness from the donor car, just to make sure that all the colored wires are in the same position, if not, change their position in your car's harness to match the new cluster. Also, the cluster and it's sensors have no bearing on the check engine light coming on. That indicates a computer controlled sensor is out of range, and you need to pull the codes to se what's up.
