twin turbo or single?

is it true that the only really reason to have a twin turbo is if you plan to get over 1000 hp? someone told me that it is only useful if you have over 1000 hp. can someone fill me in?

No, in some instances this may be true, but not likely. The purpose for twin turbos is RPM timing action. Turbo 1 will kick in at say...2200 RPM, and Turbo 2 will kick in at 5,000 RPM. All though the car is always getting an extreme boost, it does not mean the car is gaining over 1000 horses. But that really depends on the size of the turbos. Ive seen plenty of twin turbos only at 500 to 800 hp.
