Ok i'm new here. A friend actually told me to sign up here to learn a little bit. He has the same car I do so I got a lot of advice from him but he doesn't know Nitrous. I searched a little but didn't find much or maybe i looked in the wrong places. I want to learn more about it. I would guess that in a cavalier a dry system would be best.

Depends on how strong of a shot you want to run. But without boost the dry shot would be easier to install. Zex do an air filter with a jet in the end and you just plumb it to a nitrous system. Wet systems are harder as they have fuel spray aswell as you need more with more nitrous. I'd go with a dry jet as you can still get about 70hp extra out of it. But don't use it too much and if you don't get a progressive regulator, only use it at 'full throttle'!!!

ya i agree - you really need to be careful when your working with nitrous.... especially if your planning on using it with out doing any internal engine modifications... basically if you use to big of a shot which like he said a 70 shot i wouldnt honestly use anything over a 50 shot if you dont have work done to prepare the engine for the use of nitrous... an like he said use it at full throttle. Otherwise you will be putting your engine in a risk of bending the crank an maybe even breaking it, burning rings, roasting a piston or more an cooking the cylinder heads,an also making it easyier to break a rod....
So honestly do your homework before you do anything - for you own safety, the cars an other people.
I will try an find you some info....

So true. With the woinderful advent of the fast and the furious generation, everyone wants N2O but don't realise the ramifications. The main thing is to be cautious!! The reason being that Nitrous is a blend of Nitrogen and Oxygen 2 parts nitrogen to one part oxygen. What it does is when it meets the air or air/fuel mix it firstly super cools is making it more dense and therefore more combustive, then when igntied it releases oxygen which as you probably know is very combustive so BOOM instant ponies. Not really something you want to just play with!!

oh ya - dense fuel is great your car loves it - you know when you wake up on those cold days an u dont really have time to let the car warm up before ya gotta go to work or school w/e - an the car seems like it has a bit more go... its because the fuel is been out in the cold an it has become alot more dense then normal.... i put a fuel cooler on 2 of my cars along with the upgraded trans cooler....
It comes as universal so its like 40 bucks or so ... i will try an hook ya up with a link...

Holy shit i didn't expect this much info. So how good does this $40 cooler thing work. I sort of understand it but not really. I have a cold air intake so i was thinking the same thing and running the nos tube into it and running 20 shots or so. nothing special. i've messed with it before but didn't set it up and actually had a micro switch on the throttle and when you armed the system all it took was to hammer the gas or something like that

The cooler, cools the fuel giving it extra 'charge'; as it's denser. That link, on the right go to Air & Fuel cooling and then go the Flex-a-lite fluid coolers.. You control the shot by the size of the nozzle. I don't know how easy a 20 shot would be to get I think the lowest is usually around 35.

good thing you seem to know what his question was - cause the only thing i know he was askin was about the fuel cooler an what is does - but ya covered that -
but like he was sayin ya can't really regulate it low enough to get a 20 shot... an a 20 shot would do as much as u think - its like 5 hp more than putting on a quality cat back exhaust...
an like it said before - they say ya can put a 35-60 shot in a non-preped 4 cylinder engine but you really have to know how when an what your using... i wouldnt use more than a 50 shot like is said before - just learn everything about an what it does how the car is gonna react an the bad things that can happen when your using nitrous - i saw a 91 rx7 blow the clutch through the hood/out the fender an parts through the wheel compartment cutting a break line an making the kid crash into a garage... so in some cases can be like shooting a bullet outa of gun - you dont know if the bullet is gonna have a bad primer an blow up in the gun which could possibly kill you...

ya i was pretty freakin confused myself - u wanna get it mounted infront of everything like the radiator an shit - so i would mount it infront of the rad. but right behind the bumper - so its visible if u bend down an look through the bumper an would normally see the rad... that will get u the coldest air flow on this car with what ur dealing with.... :)
