Can anyone diagnose this sound?

When I am applying the breaks to make a sharp right turn (going slow usually) I hear a grinding sound from the front left wheel area. I do not hear this sound when I apply the breaks while going straight, only at slow speeds while turning. Any ideas?

how many miles are on the car?

It has 165,000 miles.

Its a 95 grand prix.

Have the outer CV joint checked. It may be starting to go bad. The only other thing I can think of is possibly a wheel bearing but you should hear that when you are going straight.
