Spark plug wires in '89 Cavvy?

My car has reciently been 'putting'. Right as I would turn it on, it would start missing in one (or more) of the cylinders. Just real shaky. Sometimes it'd work perfectly fine, but sometimes it'd be terrible. I pulled out the spark plug wires, replaced the spark plugs, and I noticed that inside one of the spark plug wires, the inner metal stuff was all stripped out of it. I'm not sure which number it was, but as I was looking at the engine, from left to right, it was the second one in. Anyway I could replace the wire myself but I don't know where the heck the spark plug wires go. I lose where they are after they seem to go beneath the engine and I can't exactly get under my car easily. So if anyone could let me know where the spark plug wires go in this car so I could replace them, it'd be appreciated.

You can reach the other end of the wires (the coil) by reaching down behind the motor from the passenger side. The coils are located on the rear of the motor on the drivers side. You cannot reach them from the drives side because of the master cylinder. Get a manual at the parts store, it will have photos and diagrams. Good Luck.

^ Its also easier to do one at a time so you connect them to the right plug and coil nipple.. i took mine off and forgot where they went... the haynes manual was hard to understand..

P'ah amateur! I never do more than one at a time and if I do take them all off for some reason I use masking tape and a marker so I know what goes where without having to reference anything!
Haynes for 95up cavi suck compared to every other I have ever seen. It's to generalised for all the models and years. When doing the clutch on a 95 Sunfire it offered no help at all so we just tossed it!!!
If you lay under you car with the hood open you will see them down the back of the engine also. At least by the sound of it you don't have the 2.8/3.1 Great fun getting to the sparks on the rear bank, cuts all over my hands!!!!!!!!!

Hey thanks guys, got the wire replaced and now my engine's running as it should be again, and I get to hear that nice muffler tip exhaust coming from my destoryed muffler. Almost sounds like the real racing mufflers *grin* But yeah I got the manual and did it myself thanks again ^^
