How do I take off the gov. on my 1990 GT? The top speed it 117.

Dont think you`ll get much past that in a 1990 GT so I dont think there is much point.

agreed. our cars arnt really the 130+mph type of cars. not too mention 117 is over the speed limit buddy!! :) ha

But some say to reflash the ECU, but thats not cheap. So how fast have you guys taken your celicas? And if I cant get 130+ out of mine what kind of toyota can u? Supra?

I've gone 145 in my celica.

But what all did you do? I'm trying to fix small things that the previous owner didn't like Ird plugs, belts, silverstar lights, royal purple oil, titanium brakes and a JL system etc...

Titanium brakes?????????only $8000 a pair, thats like 4 times the value of your car. Whats the point?

Pads! They were 150 for the front and 100 for the rear.

I didn't do anything to mine... but I have an 01 GT-S.

Thought you ment discs. Didnt know they had titanium pads!!! You`ll have to let us know how they go cause I`ve got some green stuff brake pads and they are crap.

Thanks!! My 14.7 was with full interior. Next time I head to the track I'll have weight reduction, exhaust, and I'm also porting my stock header.

BTW... forgot to add.. excellent time for stock. How much weight reduction did you do??

i hit 131 but thats after mods and rechipping the ecu...you cant take out the gover withought re chipping it...i had a friend do mine for freee but most the time ive seen it cost around $500

yeah have to chip the ecu, i dunno what he did, ive tried to learn how to re chip but i just end with a headache and know less then what i did before... all i know is you take some type of resistance out of it, and he re mapped my air/fuel ratio
