Tail Light Installation?

Aiight, I'm trying to install my aftermarket tail lights into my '96 Honda Accord, and I know to take all the screws off in the trunk and then pull the cover off. But I can't get the cover off, because there are 4 screws in each taillight cover. But each tail light has one screw that's like "gaurded" and I can't get it off. I took a picture of it because I don't know what to make of it, so tell me what you guys think..

^^Its the reddish plastic thing surrounding the gold screw that I'm having trouble with. Any suggestions in getting it off will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

looks like a loom holder to me. Break it off with some pliers and turn that bolt off

It is attached to some loom...But are you sure I should break it off, I mean it won't hurt anything? Good lookin though...

its not necessary to keep that piece, its just a stupid lil' plastic retaining clip, just snap it off! be gone with it!

Nah I was here back in the old days, and I remember when as soon as someone said Taillights everyone started bitching over Euro and their cheap ass look...Which is why I'm getting the red ones. And if you know what they look like, you would know that they look nothing those other "euros". Good lookin out though y'all

Tell me those don't look good...

P.S. And what do you mean "hope my cell don't pop up"?

Now why would that pop up? Does that mean I didn't install it right, or cause rain is leaking in or something? lol Duke making it seem like its a difficult task to install them. But everyone else has told me otherwise. *shrugs*

man ive changed out the taillights on both of the cars ive owned. never had a problem its pretty much just an unscrew unplug rescrew plug sort of deal... never had a problem, no cel light, or anything. Just make sure you take ur time to make sure they fit right and they seal right.

Alright I've installed the lights Thursday. And last night when I was driving, the "Check Brake Lamp" light came on. Me and my friend stopped off on the side of the road, and checked the brakes and all that, and everything was fine. So we kept going, and five minutes after we had started driving again, the light went off. Do any of y'all know what that means? Or is that was what Greenblurr93 was talking about?

I have a similar problem. And although this post may be a little ''old'' or ''out of date''.. why start a new thread when I used the search feature and found what I am looking for? Anyways, I recently installed some euros into my '00 Accord and for some reason the left tail illuminates when my lights are on but when I brake, my brake lights don't come on, even tho they do on the right side. And also, my check brake lamp light is on.. but I reckon it makes sense seeing as how my left brake light is out. What can be done to fix this.. is it a short in the wiring or is it a short in the plug relay? Just to get into a tad bit more detail.. I took the relay out of the factory assembly and put it in with the aftermarkets so that the brake lights would come on when braking.. seeing as how the first time around I ommitted that step and had no brake lights at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your post comfused me. Have you replaced the left side brake light that is out? If you havn't, do that first, as I suspect that would be the first thing to check to clear up the "check brake light" warning.

Yeah yeah, all the bulbs are good.. I checked that already.. I think it is more something to do with the plug maybe but I could be wrong.
