Thrasher vs. MSP CAI

I was just wondering what CAI system is better or are they equal? the Thrasher system or the MSP system? I currently have the "speed built FWI" intake and it's ok but it gets dirty real easy and its a PITA some times. Another question, the MSP is like $55 more than the Thrasher, if its better is it worth the price?
thanx, Chris

Also what about ZZP's Wizaired? just saw it..and what the deal with the intercooled option on it?

Ive been happy with the MSP.Ive had mine on the car since they were first released.

Just remember ,that with the Wizaired you will also need to buy the filter,it's not included.I dont like the bunge cord that holds the top on.

I don't remember where exactly, but I saw a comparison of the Thraser and Wizzaird CAI and there was fuss about how the Thraser doesn't fit flush to the frame on some GP's.

Has anyone experienced this?

The Thrasher CAI does not seal completely to the chasis. Consequently, you may (or may not) be sucking up small amounts of heated, engine-compartment air.

If you're not looking for 12 or low 13 second ETs, this isn't a big deal. The price difference is like $40.

why take that chance tho.....Would you go to the store and buy something that MIGHT perform as good as the comparison product, or do you just buy the comparison product(Whizaired) that you know is going to work well......DYNO charts do not lie, no matter how you try to market them to sell your product, a DYNO is a DYNO

I hear ya.......and you're right. But to some of the young folks, college students, etc., $40 is $40. And it's not like the WizAir is going to reduce your ET by half a second over the Thrasher.

I bought my Thrasher before the WizAir existed. If I were to buy a CAI today, I'd probably opt for the Wiz over the Thrasher, but my pockets are slightly deeper than some. KWIM?

Of course, my argument may be mute. If economics is that big of a factor for the buyer, they should probably just do a FWI.

Dollar for dollar, and looks, I'll take the Thrasher. $40.00 doesn't mean anything, to me. I talked to a lot of people before I bought mine. I read everything I could find on it, and bought it.
If you want the best cold air box, buy a ram air hood and ram-air box. Then wrap it.
It may cost you well over a $1,00.00. But, you'll have the best.

Thats what Photoshop is for :lol2:

Its more for looks.A CAI draws in more air then the Ram air does.Have you ever seen under the hood of one with that set-up on our cars???It's not like the old days with the Ram air, since they had a straight shot of air going to the carb.On 97/2004 the air travels thru the scoop then turns right, then down into the air box to a very small hole maybe 2 inchs around then thru the filter. It has been talked about alot at Club GP, since I first joined back in 2001.It's more of an apperence mod then anything elese.

Sorry to burst your bubble
