77 front end for sure; that the only reason I didnt get a 79-81, I hated that dumass front end. They made a point of avoding showing the front end in Smokey and the Bandit 2 for a reason.

Also can you give me a list of interior parts you're selling, I might need a few things.

Matter of opinion...I like the front end of the '79-'81 firebirds...though the '77 is a more classic look. If its a lot of work to transfer I would stick with the '77.

I just dont like the way the headlights are recessed on 79-81, but do get back to me on the interior.

some pics of my car: maybe help swing you to the '77 side.

I like it as it sits now...the paint is good and it looks like a '77. I would leave it. I thought you had the '81 front end on it and were planning on transplanting the '77 to it. I would leave it.

He does have the '81 front end and was thinking of transplanting on a '77 front end. Should be easy: bolt off, bolt on.

Here's his car http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/730482/3

i think im gonna stay with 81 i like it alot and the car is staggered like a mofo. im actually still in shock i got it cuz its in cellar and just wow i love them. ive only been down road once un registered and already got looks. i think its hard to get the awesome drop dead look with the 77 front end and it may be easier with the original 81 front end. also first timer with t-tops and the interior and trunk are carpetless and need alota work hence the 2nd interior that needs to be put in. where do you guys put the t-tops when there in there bags was there a original place for them or jsut the trunk?

i started taking the car apart tonight i will post later on on what i got it will probly be alot of plastic peices that are on each side of the back seats and alot of t top housings stuff like that

You can put 'em in the trunk, between them and your spare you'll be fresh out of space thoug. I just put em behind the front seats verticaly because I dont generaly have anyone in the back and they stay there much more snuggly; since you have the Fisher T-tops they might not fit as conviniently in the back seats because they're wider. The car Is really easy to take apart and work on; you almost don't need a manual.

Check this out tho: the a-pillars, they're metal, not plastic, the trim peice for the headliner by the windsheild too; I discovered this hardwiring my radar detector.

The interior peices I'm most intrested in are as follows: door panels, horn button, rear astrays, maybe the kick panels, and rear pillars.

do you think i should stay with the red/maroon color or go with black and gold theme??

If you got the cash, no reason to not to do the whole SE/Bandit theme. Black and gold are a very good color combination.

Take a look at some of the SE's here: http://www.taspecialties.com/stock.htm
just beautiful

money isnt an option its gonna be cheap cuz im doing it myself and not paying a whole lot for labor. plus i want the experiance, this is only my 4th or 5th car done completely over, but then agian im only 18, but that doesnt mean they arnt done professional.

Well I'm doing my own restoration too, but the original gold edition parts run a pretty penny.

The maroon color is fairly original in that I havn't seen that color a whole lot. The black and gold may not match the interior either which might make more work in changing the interior color scheme.
