Did anyone else notice this weird option on their intrigue, that you can take the entire backseat cousin completely out of the car for mor cargo room? I did not know this, but the other day while cleaning i noticed these 2 black plastic rings protruding from the backseat (kind of flimsy too) so i carefully pulled on each of them and it unclipped the backseat, making it capable of sliding out of the car....weird

Wow, interesting! I knew they had the option to fold down, but not to come out completely.

I know my car also has these black clip things on the outboard seats to adjust the seatbelt for shorter passangers.

GM advertised those cheap plastic seat clips as a feature? Now that's clever marketing. Give me a good solid metal bolt to hold my seat in any day. You guys do remember metal, right?

lol, ah yes, metal. This kind of reminds me of how you can take out the headlights so easily. I remember way back when, helping my dad swap out the headlight in our old '83 Accord. Back when they had sealed beam headlights, and not just removable bulbs.

I have a 98 intrigue GL, the rings are located in the crease between the coushin and the support, about a foot in from the door, they may be tucked in you might have to dig to find them, i had to dig to find the drivers side one, and your seat is still held on a metal bolt, the ring is just for easy release, and be tough on the pulling of the ring, it does take a little bit of force to pop the bracket

When you pull the plastic tab you should press to the rear of the car and lift the coushin. This way of removing the lower cusin on cars is pretty normal. As for the actual usefullness of this as additional cargo room. It still doesn't make the rear seat fold down. You still have to remove the two nuts on the back cushin and take that out of the car to make the hole. I am thinking about swapping that pad w/ one that folds down.
