remote start wire question

i'm installing a bypass module for a remote start that i'm also installing in my jimmy. i'm having trouble with only ONE wire. it's on the bypass module and it is labeled "module activation wire (goes to main unit)". my problem is i dont know which wire to connect it to on my main unit. according to my remote start manual i have two wires i can connect i to-
the ignition 2/3 wire: a negative (ground) output that acts just like the ignition1 or ignition2 relay outputs; says it can also be used to control a bypass module; is active ONLY during run and crank).
the immobilizer bypass: a negative (ground) output wire which acts just like the ignition 2/3 output except this output turns off after the vehicle has started by remote; does not specify when it should be active.
according to my manual i can use EITHER wire to control a bypass module. what do you guys think???

Connect it to the igniton output(neg trigger) and you should be fine. Most bypasses need to be triggered or on when the car is running. It can't shut off after it has started or you'll have problems.

i connected the wire and did the rest of what i had to do, and now the alarm will not stop going off (the remote starter i have has an alarm which must be connected to program how the vehicle starts, i.e.: tach, alternator, among other things). also, the dash lights flash sometimes when i start the car with my key (possibly because i have the passlock bypass incorrectly so it thinks i'm trying to steal my car). AND when i remote start the car, my fuel gage, tach, and speedometer are at zero, even when i rev the engine (i have a half tank of gas and normally idle around 500rpm. i do NOT have this problem when i start the car with the key.
i'm starting to think this whole remote start thing was a bad idea. anyone else have suggestions?

You don't have the right wires hooked up for either the ignition or accessory.

i dont have any extra ignition wires to hook up and i am almost positive i have the correct accessory wire. and now my "service engine soon" and "security" lights are on on my dash. I dont seem to be having any tranny shifting problems which was said might be a problem, but i also havent driven it more than 3 or 4 miles since the service engine soon light came on.
also, since i dont have a garage and it's below freezing outside i'm using a friend's garage to work on this. did about three hours of work yesterday and i dont even know what i'll be able to get done today.
thanks for the wire color diagram blazee, i'll check it against what i've got hooked up.
**edit**
i found another wire diagram at www.the12volt.com's "install bay" and apparently I have an ignition3 wire but i dont know what wire from my remote start needs to be hooked up to it. i have a single "ignition2/3" wire on my remote start that is connected to my ignition2 wire in my jimmy. the "immobilizer bypass" that i mentioned before says it "acts like the ignition2/3 wire except it turns off after the vehicle has started by remote" and i have it hooked up to my bypass module. i have a "factory alarm disarm" wire on my remote start, is a "factory alarm" different than my PasslockII?

Well, the pink, white, and orange wire should all be about the same gauge wire size if that helps. You need to remote start it and then test those wires you tapped into to make sure it is energizing what it needs too. I did a Bulldog rs system the earlier in the week and the 2nd ignition wouldn't come on. It was a bad unit.

the system i'm installing is a "designtech", only the bypass module is bulldog. i didnt think of testing them when i remote started it. i will definitely try that. also, i disconnected the module from all the wires (it was running really rough and didnt start a couple of times) and about an hour later i started driving it and about an hour after i started driving it (so 2hrs after i disconnected the remote start) my "service engine soon" light went out. and my security light went out as well (possibly because i disconnected the remote start?).
