I don't have the car anymore... GM bought back the vehicle... but not without a fight from us first. I have in the past found via google search that others had experienced the same problem.
As for the symptoms, the car would stall. The engine would just shut off while driving... even at high speeds on the highway more than once!
Every time we took the car back to the dealership, they told us that they could not find any "codes" in the cavalier's computer.

um alright - got a new car - cool deal,
they should know that just cause a code doesnt come up - doesnt mean that something couldnt be broken or fouled up -
good luck with the new set of wheels man!

So, what I wanted to know...
Has anyone heard of any stalling issues with the Cavalier?
Has anyone encountered a stalling issue where the dealership could not find any computer codes to diagnose the problem?
Does anyone have a definitive answer as to what is actually causing this problem?
I would really like to get to the bottom of this...
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yep, just happened to me yesterday (2003 Cavalier) and car is in the shop. Dealer said they could not find any code on computer and keeping it for another day. While researching further on web, I found similar problems reported with Cavaliers and GM cars in general. A lot of these pointed to bad TCC (Torque Converter Clutch ) i.e. car stalling at low speeds... exactly what happened to me. Putting the car in neutral it started back up fine then once in drive again it stalled.. back in neutral, started again then I made it home with no further problems. I'll mention the TCC to the dealer tomorrow. I'll repost if I find anything out.
