Is anybody interested in a GT3 Challenge? This is how I would do it, but throw your ideas in and lets see what we can come up with.

We would set a track, and a car with rules on what kind of mods it can have. We would then post times, with a picture if you can to prove it, and after a week or so, the person with the fastest times picks the next track and car.

Sure.

01-16-2005, 08:34 PM
i think you could also do it so you choose a track, then any car in class A, or any car in C or Super, or RAlly and so on, then you would have to pick the best car, or make it limimted to one stock car.

It sounds like a good thing you cats got planned but why not wait till gt4 comes out and do the challanges then....it should be here in about a month and a half w/o any more god forsakin delays..

I'm down for some challenges......maybe even put some money down as an entry fee.as a winner's pot........EH EH.

nah that wouldnt work. all i need is a digi-cam.

gigglesnirt
01-18-2005, 08:20 AM
because waiting for gt4 will take a month and a half, we might as well just start playing gt3 and doing challenges instead of wasting that month, someone should start challenges, like just say apricot, class A, or sometihng like that, do it wirth a number of tracks, then some could win on one track, and others can get high on other tracks.

BlitzKeg
01-18-2005, 08:46 AM
makes senses....hows about a real challenge?,

F1 class or s class on apricot hill?

that sounds like fun. I'm gonna buy a new ps2 on the 21st, thats friday. I just need to get a internet camera and im in.

gigglesnirt
01-19-2005, 07:07 PM
i luv apricot so im down with that, but i dont really care, maybe seattle circuit, or maybe even put up a couple races at a time, and just see what you can do with that, and post your times for each race

AvAlAnChE1090

I got my ps2!!!!! =)

i just bought san andres with it friday.

Im down for the challenges now.
It sounds like we all agree on apricot hill,

I nominate open s class (which includes f1 cars)

or

we can stick to the JGTC cars only.

any other suggestions?
and please! no vitz or beetles etc,. I hated the slow car races. i dont think id want a slow car challenge.

so every one cast their votes or nominations and lets get this show going......

jon@af
01-23-2005, 11:28 PM
Okie doke, here's what we can do: Someone can start a new thread with a similar title and explain all the rules and how things are going to work, etc. I will sticky it and the thread starter will throw up the first track and goodies and the likes. Anyone agree with this? have any suggestions?

I'll pay for shipping!!!

seriously..I might have to buy a new cheap one.....It's gonna be 1 1/2 weeks from now till I get paid.

but anyways about the challenge ......Lets start it this week,,,we just need some input or votes about which circuit the first challenge will be at.

so IF YOU ARE READING THIS CAST YOUR VOTE!!!

jon@af

Poll Added. Sorry about the wait, I've had a busy-ass week here at school, and it's only Wednesday.

Anyway, the poll will end the 31st, at which point the first track will be announced. I'll leave it up you guys to decide tuning allowances and vehicles for the race. After all that is decided I'll close this thread and start the new sticky for the challenge. Sound good?

Because I just recently added the poll (like, today)

i'm starting to have second thoughts about the whole f1/jgtc idea.........

If we have regular cars maybe in the s class, it would prolly be more fun and you can get more creative at which vehicle to choose. in stead of everyone choosing the same car

plus not everyone has a f1.

I'm thinking it be a street car challenge

cars are limited by:

1-you must aquired the car when it was stock.
2-any mods allowed.
3-special cars not allowed (includes jgtc, f1, lm, etc,,,).

tell me what u guys think.

jon@af
01-30-2005, 03:16 PM
I'm going to extend the poll to thursday, but after that, all is said and done. I'm doing this just in case someone hasn't voted and whatnot.

I would like all ideas on how you would like to go about the first challenge submitted please, that why you guys can get going on this.

Any questions or comments, PM me.

BlitzKeg
02-02-2005, 12:06 PM
my internet is still off at the house and im off school friday w/ a half day thursday so I'm just gonna go with the
Street Car Chellenge @ Laguna Seca,

if it changes over the weekend I'm just screwed so go w/ what gets most votes.

BlitzKeg

Street Car Challenge Rules & Regulations

-cars involved must have been acquired or bought stock.

-jgtc, lm, f1, rally, prototype, and....etc., are NOT allowed.

-special edition cars are allowed, like svt, nismo, sti...etc, aslong as its a street legal car that you can buy at a dealership in what ever country you can imagine.

-all modifications are allowed. engine, steering, suspension, aerodynamics, etc.,,, includes upgrades.

any questions please post.

jon@af
02-02-2005, 12:43 PM
It looks good to me. What about starting on Sunday or Monday? Or would you rather start Friday?

Also WOULD ANY WHO SHOWED INTEREST PRIOR TO/SHOW INTEREST NOW IN THIS CHALLENGE PLEASE POST "AGREE" OR "DISAGREE" WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED SPECS FOR THE FIRST RACE. This way we can get the ball rolling.

Vtec913
02-02-2005, 03:11 PM
I for one agree with those rules, name the track spanky :flipa:

eps
02-03-2005, 12:57 AM
Maybe all modifications allowed is taking it a little too far. What about something like this?

RWD N/A with no more than 380bhp, stock suspension, upgraded tires, all no drivetrain restrictions, and no weight reductions.
AWD Turbo with no more than 450bhp, sport suspension parts, stock drivetrain, stock tires, weight reductions allowed.
FWD N/A with no more than 240bhp, full suspension, stock tires, sport drivetrain, no weight.

Mix it up a bit!

BlitzKeg
02-03-2005, 08:47 AM
what about just eliminating awd & 4wd.....take the advantage out of it.

just rwd & fwd.

I want this race to be fast but with no disadvantages or advantages. plus w/ rwd alot more skill is involved from not going sidewards.......awd U can slide sidewards and come out straight with no loss of speed.

we can make a hp limit. only thing, if we make a hp limit how can we regulate it? It doesn't say the hp next to your time... I'll do some research and get back to you guys later today at work..my house line is still out.

AvAlAnChE1090
02-03-2005, 09:11 PM
No F1 :(

AvAlAnChE1090
02-03-2005, 09:12 PM
also we should just buy a car, just plain stock w/ no setting changed (i believe no one will cheat?)

jon@af
02-04-2005, 08:15 PM
Alright guys, Leguna Seca it is. Now, if we can all come to an agreement as far as the allowed specs, we'll see if we can't get this started on Monday or Tuesday.

AvAlAnChE1090
02-04-2005, 09:52 PM
I vote for a BONE STOCK car, i'm sure everyone here could afford one? I saw we get a car thats over 1 mill.

eps
02-04-2005, 11:55 PM
I agree with bone stock car. Nothing you can't buy at the dealership.

BlitzKeg
02-05-2005, 08:58 AM
Bone-Stock Car Race?

you guys saying you want to choose one single car, or you can personally choose your own car?

any car we choose, laguna seca is a very challenging curcuit. I'm down for the bone stock.

Its gonna be hard to regulate but we can only hope everyone will be honest.

or we can steer clear of that whole regulation thing and pick a single car with full mods, or only certain cars with full mods. that way we don't have to worry about cheaters.

anyways my internet is on at my house. so Im happy as hell now.

BTW post what you guys think!!!!!!

jon@af
02-05-2005, 05:36 PM
How about this:

Any car you can afford that is NOT a supercar with allowable mods of anything stage 1 or sport (i.e. Turbos, transmissions, suspension, lightweight kits etc.).

dantheman00114
02-05-2005, 09:08 PM
why dont we choose a specific car and specific mods... that would be more of an accurate challenge

M3FordBoy
02-05-2005, 09:44 PM
I think it should be any car you want that can be bought no prototypes or concepts, and not the race cars. I think the Stage 1 only idea is good or compleatly stock. If we do stock there would be no tuning but all stage 1 parts you could tune your car.

We would probley be doing this more thatn once so next time we could do a single car and see who tunes the car the best and can drive.

Edit: Or would these be set rules we use over again on different tracks?

dantheman00114
02-06-2005, 01:21 PM
same car... same mods... cant get any simpler than that

jon@af
02-06-2005, 02:36 PM
same car... same mods... cant get any simpler than that
I'm liking this idea. This will show who wins outright on that track and no one can claim "he had a better car or better mods".

Any suggestions on what car and mods?

BlitzKeg
02-07-2005, 11:43 AM
anything with some power,
-viper gts
-R34 GT-R
-Vantage
-one of the RuF's
-er maybe even a Rx7
mmmmm, NSX type-R
-svt cobra
All w/ full mods.

There all a challenge to drive on Laguna Seca.
I'll make a vote once I test drive some more cars.

Post If you have any favorites or suggestions!!!

M3FordBoy
02-07-2005, 03:17 PM
^What about a Z06 Vette. I was testing out some cars with stage one stuff the other day to see what I liked and got the best times out of the Vette. The other cars I used were the NSX (the other one not type-R), Viper GTS, and SVT Cobra. This was only stage 1 stuff tho.

short of money fordboy?

If you are theres an old trick, race the european championship on what is it.......ametuer league,
yea I'm pretty sure its the ametuer......anyways sell the panoz car you win from it and you can make $125,000 per completion. you can do this as many times as you need. and remember SAVE!

M3FordBoy
02-08-2005, 03:13 PM
^No not short on money just we were discusing using stage 1 only so I was seeing what I could get with It I got about 2.9 million sitting on the game now, but thanks for the help anyways.

How are we going to deside on what car to use? I think it will be good to use one car only will all the mods now.

my japanese culture club at school is setting up a game tournament in a couple weeks. i made a copy of my old file, and tuned almost every car, so that i can get 1.28-1.35 on laguna seca. and they don't have the same hp either. i set up my r32 to have 697 hp, and run times of 1.28, doing wicked awesome drifts. and i have a 410hp camaro, that runs it in 1.30. the hp ranges from under 150 to 700 hp. not all of them have been tuned yet, and i sold all the ones that were too fast. the mini cooper i have can almost keep pace. i think i got a 1.33 out of it. how about we do time trial races, any car, under 700hp. no special cars either. and you're restricted to tires that are medium slick or worse. hmm....what else....oh! and make it Laguna seca. because, i love that track
