AEM c/a/i What a difference!! (short story)

I raced my friend from work last Saturday.
Me: 98 Civic LX (auto) (mods in the sig) -- minus the c/a/i
Him: 98 Civic HX (5 spd / stock)
By the time he went to shift to 2nd I was about 1 car length behind. ....and from there he just pulled away and I let off.
Last night w/ AEM c/a/i:
Same light, same direction, etc.....
he did spin the wheels a tad this time....
Shifting into 2nd my front bumper was about even with his door. So, he maybe had me by half a car length. He eventually got further ahead, but at 80 mph it was still pretty close.
I really didn't notice any gains with the c/a/i, but he was pretty surprised how I kept up with the 2nd time. He said he was on the gas just as hard each time.
I figured if I had my stockies on, I may have a chance to take him by a hair. What do you guys think?
I heard the HX is light as hell especially compared to my LX :(
I know the wheels have to play some kind of roll as well.
Just thought I'd let you guys know that I am very :) with my AEM c/a/i :)

And maybe it's because he spun the tires a little more this time but you are right about the HX being lighter...for one it's a coupe...and your's is a 4 door LX right? Anyways....get some more mods and he wont have a chance.:D

i thought the HX civic was the one with the continuous transmission? No gears right? I guess i'm wrong.

Yeah, no gears. Just 1st and Nuetral.
CVT, Continously Variable Transmission which in laymans terms means it can continoutsly change gear ratios for improved power delivery and better gas mileage.
