Drivers side power door lock not working. All others are o.k. you have to push it down or pull it up manually. Any ideas which part may need to be replaced? Can it be done by do it yourselfer or is it a can of worms?

Should be fairly easy to replace. Does it make a whirring sound? It it does there is a small plastic piece that has a spring on the inside. The plastic piece has split out the end from the pressure of the spring. I tried to glue/melt mine with heat and it worked for several week and then split again. You probably need to take the latch out by removing screes at the edge of the door. I was working of a 92 your model may be different. Good luck.

It does't make any whirring noises, when you push the button on the driver side door the other 3 doors work.

Sound like there may we a wireing issue no power to the door lock actuator or the actual actuator is gone. This is a completely different lock/actuator than the one I was working on. The above website gives you an idea of what the part looks like. It should be part 28. I would recommend that you order a service manual CD on ebay for your particular model.

On my 92 there were several screws that I reomoved and then the panel pops out (has plastic gromets) and then lifts up. There are multiple wires attached to window motor, door lock, light that you will need to remove. Then there is a plastic cover that you will need to cut or tear.

I forgot to mention that as cheap as this part is I would go to honda service department and talk to part guys. some of them can be very helpful. or call them and tell them the problem and ask what they think it could be. I found one in Bennettsville, SC that was extremely helpful.

Crusty I have that same problem with my 99 accord coupe. I believe it is the actuator. Did you fix the problem? Let me know how you did it. I have the paneling off right now and am looking how to get at it. If you have any suggestions, please respond and help me out or may be we can try to solve this together.

if you guys want to find out if it is your actuator or not...remove the driver side door panel...and unplug the connector to the actuator. if you have a test light...probe one of the terminals and push the door lock switch and see if your test light lights up. if it does...the actuator is shot; if it doesn't...check for wiring back up to the switch.
