Dynamat installation

I was wondering if anyone here has installed dynamat in their trucks. I would like to put a louder exhaust on my truck. Already though there is a lot of road noise, I can only imagine what it would be like after the exhaust is installed.

So here's the question. Have you installed dynamat or other noise reduction material? Was it difficult? How complete was the installation ie floor boards, roof, firewall, back of cab? About how much did it cost to do? Lasty, is this something I should be able to do myself or should it be done professionally?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I think the silver insulation stuff with the insulation works better. Dymax is really for tight areas.

Make sure your exhaust is coming out of the back and the tip extend past the bumper a little. This will produce less under truck noise.

Also if you want rap your muffler with that header wraper stuff.

For some reason the muffler actually vibrates which makes a lot of noise.

From what i have seen and have heard about dynamat , it is fairly simple easy to apply. Simply cut to fit and stick it on. Dynamat is a sound deadening material and the more area you cover with it in the cab, the quieter it will be. I would think there would not be much sense in doing the roof though , i would do the floor and the rear of the cab. I am sure that would make a big difference and may be easier to install since it is basicaly just a sticker. Just a thought

Thanks for the info. I also have the rear window air leak going on too. I imagine getting that tightened up will help alot. I definetely want to sound proof the cab as best as possible.

The yellow insulation will the silver backing... Are you talking about duct insulation? I can get access to all kinds of that stuff, which would be great. if so, does that stuff work well?

Thanks again for the replies.
