Still waiting... ordered two as soon as I saw they were coming. Could this be the next '355 re-release' saga?

I received an e-mail from HobbyLink Japan last week saying they were processing my pre-order for Gallardo e-Gear kits, but nothing yet about them actually being shipped.

Also related, I'll have the following Gallardo colors ready to go on February 1st:

Arancio Ymir
Giallo Halys
Nero Noctis
Blu Caelum Metallic
Grigio Altair Metallic
Arancio Borealis Pearl
Giallo Midas Pearl
Nero Osyris Pearl
Rosso Metis Pearl

Arancio Borealis and Giallo Midas are tricoat finishes.

Leon when you say tricoat do you mean primer-groundcoat-basecoat-clear? Dunno why an Aussie like me is asking.

I hope that Fujimi is taking there time to make the Gallardo kit a real ripper! Something to rival the Tamiya Enzo - okay I'm dreaming, but at least an improvememt on the Murcielago please.

Phil,

He means by tricoat:

Basecoat, pearl, Clear.

While the kit hasn't been realeased anything is still possible! Unlikely, impossible even, but a least it shouldn't have a diecast chassis. That would be a disaster if the wheels had to be moved around like on the Murcielago!

Thanks, that's what I figured. Sometimes they are called 2CT sometimes 3CT, I guess it depends if you take the clear as given or not.

Great news!

You're coming out with tons of awesome colors. I may have to order 9 kits. That'll be easier than picking one of these colors.

David's right. The base is usually a solid color and the midcoat usually contains the pearl or metallic components, although the opposite is true for some. GM's Magnetic Red for the Corvette has a metallic red base while the midcoat for it is an almost clear candy red.

Have Fuijimi announced any plans for a "Deluxe" version with PE? If so, I'll wait for that one.

That would be nice, but you don't have to wait. Acu Stion has already made a PE grade up set for the Gallardo.

Paying 600Y for useless PE part, I prefer waiting for REAL PE part at 1200Y

RallyRaider
01-15-2005, 03:38 PM
Exactly, it is only 600yen extra and if the Murcielago kit is anything to go by the quality of the Fujimi PE is far superior to the overpriced Acustion. If Studio 27 do a PE set however, that is another kettle of fish.

Yeah I agree, but isn't Acu-Stion fret sheet more complete? Don't get me wrong I am a HUGE fan of S27 and SMS pe.... but sometime Acu Stion makes parts and Pe stuff that either of those don't, even for the same model.

RallyRaider

Yeah the Acustion set has more on it that the small Fujimi fret. But the quality of the etching, accuracy, fit and all that is much nicer on the Fujimi PE. I'm taking about my experience with the Murcielago here. Fujimi's shift gate and pedals for instance are light years ahead of Acustion's attempt. The preferred course of action is to get them all and use the best parts off each. ;)

Haven't seen that "Engine Food Transparent Parts" before... Must be "engine hood" thy mean or? Could that actualy mean the Gallardo kit has such a decent engine compartment that it needs a version with clear parts to show it off ?
Hope so cause I have preordered the Gallardo and I'm very exited to see what it will be like. The fujimi murcielago didn't seem to have too nice engine or chassis though so I'm not to optimistic...

The 1:1 Gallardo has a glass engine cover option. This must be Fujimi's scale version of it.

Found out something.
Take a good look at pic 7 of the assembly guide.(parts not to use)
Could that be the clear hood type there making?
They cant be that stupid! :screwy:
In that case we could choose wich one to build if you yust order the standard type.

Oh yes they can be, it's Fujimi! :icon16:

I'm glad to have the option on the standard kit.

I have high hopes, the parts and assembly look fairly comprehensive for a curbside and they did some interesting things w/parts and assembly beyond the norm. Look at how the engine lid is "attached", the glass mounts from outside (windshield and side glass), the interior components are broken down, looks like a clear cover for the instruments. Can't wait to get it!

I Just hope the "wheel problem" we all know from the murcie is solved on this kit. Would be a shame not to learn from the mistakes Fujimi has made in their past!!! So at least the size should be alright...

Some of each...
remember the Revell kit is an import to asia, I would expect the same price at my LHS here in the US.
Revell US will likely offer their own version, for about half the price, though that may be a year or more away.

In germany 16,99 EUR
In the uk Ģ14.99(=21.7250 EUR)
In japan 4,180 jpy (=29.9979 EUR)

So it really depends how many miles it travels.
