My compass has gone into "CAL" or calibration mode. Its been this way for a couple days.
Anybody with an operators manual care to explain what it is doing or if I need to respond to the "CAL" message?
Many thanks if you know what is going on

Apparently somebody held down the "reset" button for too long. Anyways the Compass has lost it's calibration and needs to be recalibrated, go to a large parking lot that doesn't have a lot of metal objects around (Like light poles), Turn the steering wheel to the left and make full circles at a speed no more than 5 MPH, keep going in circles until the Cal indicator goes off. You will also need to set the Deviation for it too so it will be accurate. If you tell me what state you live in I can tell you the correct deviation setting and how to set it.

Thanks AWP9521
I tried the parking lot thing. I even stopped at North, West, South and East. i did a couple circles but it still says NORTH and "CAL".
I am set at "8", which is correct for Illinois.
It was working fine the other day and yes, someone was playing with those buttons.
You don't have to do more than 2 or 3 circles do you?
I'm going to try again and maybe mess with the buttons myself. I don't think I ever want to Calibrate this compass again.....
