You know what I hate? People that lose/don't answer/leave at home their cell phones. I mean, they're paying for the damn service, it just seems like they MIGHT ACTUALLY WANT TO USE THE THING! You need to talk to me? Call my cell phone. I have it with me 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And its always on too; imagine that! If I can't answer it, I call you back when I can talk!
Sorry, I guess I just don't understand people that buy a cell phone just to lose it, turn it off, or leave it at home or in the car.

Well ... i guess your not going to like me !!!
I have a cell phone in my car for emergencies only. I rarely use it and I have the cheapest service because I don't use it. The only person that has the number is my wife; and even then it is posted on the wall.
I don't even know what my cell number is; because I don't use. Besides, I would rather not use it then be like some who are constantly talking to whoever, at the worst times (driving, movie threaters, resturants, etc...)
I would like to know what is so important that you need to have the cell phone stuck to your ear 24/7 ?

That's fine to have one for emergencies, just don't use it as a contact number, If you want someone to be able to get in touch with you, you should give them a number you'll actually answer at.

I have a cell phone, and a pager. Used to have 2 phones and a pager, but the boss asked to have one of them back. My boss at one point used to carry 5 (yes, that is five) different phones from different carriers, just so people could get a hold of him. Right now he's down to 2 or 3, not sure.

funny i hear the same shit from my friends some time. you may want to consider the fact that you're being avoided and these "lost" or "forgotten" phones are just excuses.

I don't have a cell phone because I do not want to be at the beck and call of whoever has my phone. Because someone calls, doesn't mean I feel like talking on the phone righ then. Having the land line is for MY convenience - not someone else’s.

I have a cell phone and it is always on and always with me. However, I hardly answer it. Most of the time I dont want to talk to the people who are calling, simply because when girls call they want to talk. I dont want to talk. Tell me what was soo important that you had to take time out of your day and let that be that. For example when I call one of my buddies Ill say hey, he says hey, I say im going to this place you should come, he either says ok or he cant, then we hang up, thats it. Thats why I rarely answer my phone. Now I at least have it so if there is an emergency I can be reached but besides that and getting drunk(which could be classified as an emergency), dont call me!

1. I know when I'm being avoided. I've had plenty of experience with that  I don't call the people that don't call me. Why would someone call me on their own initiative if they wanted to avoid me?

I hear ya dugie. I got my cell phone in the console of my car, and It's never on. I don't know the number either. I've had it for two years, and I only use it about once every three months. It's saved my tail several times already - glad I have it, but other then for the essentials, I never use it. I simply don't understand why other guys my age all MUST have cell phones. They're continuously walking around talking... about WHAT??? Usually nothing important at all. I can understand if you've got important stuff going on, (coordination, business stuff, ect..) but for the most part, youth like myself just spend countless hours every day saying "Hey... what's up... not much..... cool... ok... see ya..." and paying out their nose to say it. lol I'd much rather save my money and time for something more useful - like my CAR for example! :)

The people who piss me off are the ones who think a cell phone is some continual link that should never be broken. Let me explain.
I cannot have my cell phone on when I am in class or at work. Seeing as how I work full time (50-60hrs week) and go to class 18 hours a semester, you can figure out that more often than not I am going to have to call you back.
However, when I am at home you can pretty much bet the farm that I am sleeping with the hours I keep above. I sure as hell don't want to wake up to the sound of the land-line phone ringing 18 times each morning. So, more than likely you are going to have to leave a message there as well.
My phones are for my convenience, and the only reason I have a cell phone is that I am never home. If somebody calls me while I am at school or work, they are most likely going to get a return call during my next break.
If me having to call them back is too big a pain in the ass for them to deal with, and some have complained, then I just say stop calling me.
