Perf Shift

1998 GT - Perf Shift light keeps intermittently coming on. Applying pressure to the gearshift to the right will make it go out but it comes quickly back after letting go. Eventually it'll go out. Now this is a 98 GT so it DOESN'T EVEN HAVE Perf Shift. Any ideas?

PS is turned on by running a ground to Pin 21 White on the PCM. the shift knob is where you turn this on and off so it sounds like your car was wired for one and your gear shifter is pinching this wire somehow causing a ground to go through the wire. 2000 is when they droped PS so i would take your center console apart and check to make sure you do not see any frayed wires around the gearselector.
