On your last day at work!

How would you go down if you were allowed to do ANYTHING you wanted to on your last day at work, and I mean ANYTHING!?
I work at a call center with nothing but stupid people who I think have nothing better to do with their time than to call up and just complain. Just complain. So on my last day, I'll do just exactly that to the customers, complain to them. "You know, you aren't really worth my time, and quite frankly, this is my last day here, and I don't get paid enough to listen to you gripe, so let's just see what you have here!" Long pause...... "oooops... I think I just clicked on the wrong button! Oh well, I guess you'll need to call our sales desk and get a new account!" <click!>
That'd be me! I'll do ya one better though and do it when I'm drunk, medicated (on Tylenol w/ Codeine #3) and with added swearing and cussing!

I can tell you what I did my last day at my last job.
Once upon-a-time there was me. I had a job at a pet store with some very good looking girls that I became very good friends with :naughty: . One night this girl (I'll call her K) comes in later than she was scheduled for because she thought she was scheduled to come in when she said she was available (after cheerleading practice). My boss decides to fire her over the phone (he called from his house to the store). K put the phone on speaker so we could all hear our boss screaming at her and calling her a lazy bitch, but she kept her cool and just hung up and left...this upset me and this girl's sister (why don't we call her T) who also works there and who(m) is one of my best friends.
We decided that night would be our last night working there. The next day at school I called the Menards to see if I got the job I had interviewed for a couple days before and they told me pending a drug test I had the job. :uhoh: Well my friend came over to my house and my neighbor, best friend, and at that time co-worker came over between classes. Well T decides to call in and tell our asshole boss that she quit...he was pretty pissed that he didn't get 2 weeks notice from her. Well about 20 mins. later I called in and said I quit. Now he's lost 2 managers in less than 30 mins. so he's flipping out and told me to go fuck myself...So I hung up. Later that night he calls my house and talks to my mom  My mom hates this guy like none other and my mom is as cold as an ex-wife. So I hear all this screaming and I come up from my room and ask WTF is going on...she hands me the phone and what do you know, my boss is on the phone. Here's how the conversation goes: Sidenote about this guy...he's a professional bullshitter and always always gets what he wants.
Boss: Andy I really need you back!
Me: Really?
Boss: You're the backbone of this store blah blah blah.
*at this point I put the phone on speaker and started playing GTA: SA*
Me: Really?
Boss: I need you to come back Andy!
Me: I'm not coming back!
Boss: Well why not?
Me: Because I found another job that pay twice as much with better hours that don't involve cleaning up dog shit...
Boss: I'll give you a raise and we can work with your hours.
Me: You didn't let me finish...I also didn't like the way you fired K
Boss: HEY! That's not fair! You only heard one side of that conversation!
Me: Really? Because she had it on speaker phone up at the cash register so that all the customers could hear!
Boss: *silence*
Me: Ya there?
Boss: Yes.
Me: Ok.
Boss: I'm gonna go now.
Me: You do that.
And I lived happily ever after...until my next adventure on the train going from Aurora to Chicago
I was so proud of myself to not resorting to just flipping out and cussing at this guy. I know that was long and pretty pointless but I figured I'd share.

Oh man, you have no idea what it's liek working at a call center. Usually these places are contracted, I'm contracted through HP, so after our employment is done, there are no references. SO pretty much, you work there, then after they never knew you.
So if i were to actually show up on my last day, I'd make sure I go to jail for what i do or my job wasn't done

tomorrow is my last day at my current job. i was hired as a seasonal employee and was told there was a chance i would get hired full time once the christmas season was over. so i busted my ass, sold $18 grand worth of stuff almost every day and worked my hardest to guarantee myself a spot.
what happened? i got passed up for the lazy-ass moronic fat slob who only got the job because he went to school with one of the full-time staff who "highly recommended" him.
so as of now, i'm weighing my options. go in tomorrow and show them how i really feel (which might happen considering the "wonderful" day i had today...long story), or just do my damn job, say a nice good-bye to everyone and have a reference for the future...
we'll see how i feel in the morning i guess. as sick as i am right now, i may not even go to work at all.

My manager was complete fucking idiot, and I told him he was a horrible manager before I left. My boss, however, is a great guy and has many connections, and serves as a great reference. It all depends on what you have at work. If you've got someone you know you'll never need to speak to again, then go for it with the expressing how you really feel, but if you've got a good reference and connections, don't burn your bridge down just yet.

:1: My first job was like that. I had a huge bitch session with the boss of a small (5 people) engineering office and spent three days telling my soon to be ex-boss what assholes he and his wife (office manager) were. It was great !!!! I also left in a tire-smoking burnout in my truck from his parking lot. The burnout marks are still there today after 10 yrs; so he has to remember me EVERY DAY he pulls in the parking lot.
Every other job I have left ... I have always been polite; don't want to burn any more bridges!!!

Okay, I guess I wasn't clear when I started this poll. Think of a job that you worked at where it just TOTALLY pissed you off, and I mean just rattled your every nerve, your very soul, and even your sanity. I'm talking every day you walk in and almost immediately you knew it was a bad day even before you hit the clock-in button. We're talking customers who complain and yell and scream, bosses who don't seem to care one way or another about the customer or you for that matter so long as they get paid their big $$$, and they are getting their promotions and their big bonuses and all the perks and priviledges thereto. We're talking where your job has co-workers who backstab, lie, cheat, steal from others, steal from you, lie to your boss about you so that THEY can get recognition and respect, and get more of a chance for promotion, and cheat in every way possible, leaving you out in the cold with barely making any money at all to support yourself, your family, your dog, etc.
On top of that, you have 4 or 5 other bosses who are concerned more about promoting those same middle management pricks who are too big and uptight to even wipe their own ass, then promote everyone else to compete for that manager or supervisor spot like it was some deathmatch competition, with all the backstabbing included.
So, I ask again, if you have ever had a job or place of employment that had anything similar to this or even had "some" of the characteristics that I mentioned above, what would you do on your last day there? Personally? I'd pull a "Half-Baked" if anyone has seen that movie, YOU KNOW what I'm talking about. Forget about burning bridges, I'd rather save my own sanity and frustration and deal with the consequences later. With a job like that, I wouldn't care, because at that point, I already know what they would say about me and why. Legally, they can't because of confidentiality, but that hasn't stopped previous employers before, and it's virtually unenforceable, so my thought is, I wouldn't care.
And for those of you who are asking, yes, I have had one or two jobs EXACTLY like that before. Nothing but backstabbing, biasness, lying, cheating, even reverse racial profiling, discrimination, supervisor conflicts, MAJOR differences with members of management who shall remain anonymous. Especially when both of these places of employment were both movie theatres and a movie rental store. Then there was a grocery store I worked for, actually three of them. Enough said there, and then a call center for technical support. Definitely, enough said there!

My most recent job was like that but experience has shown me that what goes around, comes around.
You do have a point. But still for me, when I quit at my job at the grocery store, the night before I went home and drank a bunch of beer and spilled it purposely on my uniform, and turned it in just exactly like that. The manager on duty was some black guy the night before I quit, and he was just absolutely a prick. He made sure to make it to where I worked ALL THE WAY to midnight, and when I went to leave for the night, he said "Well, I need you to do {something}" And I explained to him that with my impaired vision, I can't be out too late, so I had to go home. He said that if it wasn't done, that it would be a write up and blah blah blah, and that he didn't want any work for the morning crew there when they got in. Of course, this was because they were black too. Now, I've got NOTHING against any colored people at all. In fact, I've got MANY MANY friends of all ethnicities, but I knew what this guy was doing. He was making it to where these guys didn't have to do shit, and didn't have to do "REAL" work period while guys like me had to clean up all the shit and do EVERYTHING for them. Case in point, anytime there was a clean up to be done in one of the aisles and another manager would call up one of the black courtesy clerks to do it, he would override them, and ask either me or some other white courtesy clerk to do it. I think it was me and some girl there, and we were the only two white courtesy clerks there. Or, it was the same way when it came to getting all the carts outside and pushing them inside. One of the managers would call for one the black guys to do it, and before they would even walk out the door, he would stop them and tell them to go upstairs, then would turn to me and ask me to do it. I'll tell ya I WAS PISSED!!! Not only did I see what he was doing, but I was also mad because I was in the middle of helping another customer, which has ALWAYS been my #1 priority in any job I've held!
Another example is when I worked at one of our movie theaters here in Las Vegas, NV which happened to be inside one of the Casinos. Again, same deal. The manager in charge of scheduling everyone was black, so she gave preferrential treatment to anyone there who was black. Let me tell you, I WORKED MY GOD DAMN ass off there. So much so that I developed MAJOR back problems ranging from arthritis to lower back muscle spasms and neck muscle spasms. I kept that place looking GREAT. The black guys that worked there hardly did SHIT. And when it came the last few months I worked there, whenever it came to look at my schedule, I was only working there maybe 2 or 3 days out of the week, whereas these guys were working 4 or 5 days out of the week, ALMOST full time. I can remember one instance when Titanic (God I hate that F____ing movie, and that Damn song for it too!), and almost EVERY show was sold out, and of course, every show that let out was TRASHED, so as one of the few white ushers there, I had to clean up every one of them.
When my buddy worked there, he and I worked very hard, and when that movie came out, we both would work very hard. Though she didn't like this, so she would have one of us work one side of the building, while the other worked the other side. THEN it gets better. One of the theaters that let out was so bad, I had to ask for help, so I went up to one of the black guy ushers and asked if he would mind helping me out because I am behind and I needed some extra pair of hands. BEFORE HE EVEN TOUCHED A BROOM, this black bitch decides to walk up and says RIGHT ALOUD, "No, you don't have to help him! C'mon, let's go up front, I have something else for you!"
Later on, I found out that what he got to do was take tickets at the frigging door and she relieved the white guy doorman for the day! Oh yeah, I worked at some pretty shitty jobs in my day already, and I'm only 25!! For those who are wondering, yes, I did go to a senior manager at both places. Not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES about these issues, and you want to know what they said to me? "We'll look into it!" A week later goes by and they come to me and say "Well, that person says that you were not doing anything so they felt you could do it on your own!" I just about flipped a lid when I told the GM that she was a lying sack of shit, but before I went any further, I had to go home before I completely went off.
So yeah, basically, I wouldn't give a damn about being polite because politeness really hadn't done me much good at some of the places I've worked at. So to me, I would not care too much of what I said to them on my last day and I wouldn't care too much of what I did either. Granted, I may regret it later. Heck, I regret telling the one manager at the movie theater that I thought she was a total bitch (yes, this was on my last day), and that I thought she could stand to lose 500 pounds if she pushed a little harder to get that last kid out! She didn't like that too much, but to say the least I got everyone to laugh at that! Even the GM couldn't resist a chuckle and when she gave him a glare, he had to straighten up, but looked back at her and said "Sorry, I can't blame him, you are a bitch!" Yes, he did say that! And right after, I heard as I was walking out, "You're fired too!"
Love the way that one ended.

A colleague of mine is retiring on the last day of the month after 22 years working for the same employer. He's been walking around the office breaking into song every 5 minutes... and being somewhat old he's belting out 50's and 60's classics... brilliant :D

Sorry you had to run into the real arseholes of my "race":(. Not all of us are ignorant despite what music videos and other sources would have the world believe. I hope things get better for you and you have better experiences with people:). I'm an arsehole but I'm one to everybody; no matter what color they are:sunglasse

Eh, there's a bad apple in every bunch unfortunately. White, mexican, asian, hispanics, blacks, etc. They make the rest of us good decent people look bad. The good part is since that time, I've found people of all colors and races that are quite decent, but still there are those at every place of employment I've been at, in every ethnicity represented, that are just out to get a paycheck and nothing more, but are just there to be complacent and are just completely there to gripe, bitch, complain, and do nothing, but want to get paid anyway! And the sad part is.... THEY DO GET PAID!!!! And what's worse is there are people like this ON WELFARE!!! People like this who CHEAT the system, so that people like you and I who are honest and decent and when we ACTUALLY need the system can't get approved for it even if our f**king lives depended on it!
