I have a 93 laser that i have had for about 8 months now. I have been working on it and now I was thinking about going turbo. i found a guy who has a talon awd turbo for sale for 2000. The car has just over 100k miles on it and isn't running right. it cranks up just fine but dies as soon as you let off of the gas. if you keep your foot in one position the rpm varies within about 2000. is this the ics (idle control sensor)? he said he took it to the shop and that is what they said it was. other than that it looks like a decent car. comes with an extra non running car if i choose to take it. I may just part it out. sound like a good deal?

Sounds like the TPS, try just adjusting the cable first (tighten).

there are tons of issues that can cause a turbo not to idle correctly. Personaly i wouldn't take his word for it. i'd have a dealership take a look at it, and have THEM tel l you its a simple problem.
when my 99 GST wasn't idling right, it was a boost leak, dirty air filter, one of my spark plugs wasn't in right, and they still had to adjust it because it was idleing 300 rpms too low.
for us to know if its worth it we need to know the year of the car, it could be a 92 or a 98 with 100k that tends to make a difference on the price

Find out what the check engine light is? I bet that will tell you what it is.
