ok heres the deal:

1997 expy, 4x4, 5.4L

air susp off before proceeding

passenger side brake caliper sticking, thus brake pad wear excessive............AGAIN!!...........finally i decided to replace it.
since the passenger side rotor is scored beyond repair, i will replace both rotors, .....plus, after all the bashing i did to remove it - there is no way to have it shaved for reuse

purchased 2 new calipers, 2 new rotors, brake pads

disconnected banjo bolt, removed caliper, discarded worn brake pads

removed the brake caliper anchor bracket

removed old rotors, (after major Fu@#in' aggravation) if you need more info on how to get these rotors off - let me know- but you will need to purchase new ones ater you get thru with 'em

installed new rotors, brake caliper anchor bracket. installed new pads and installed brake caliper. reconnected banjo bolt (hydraulic brake line).

so at this point, both passenger & driver sides have new rotors, pads & calipers.

bled the brakes, but cannot get the brakes to work.........very spongy............how can i make sure the new calipers are working?

does not appear that the caliper piston even moves........did i miss anything that someone can see?

i'm assuming you kept the master cylinder topped off during the bleeding process? and that you started bleeding from the passenger side first? that said, the brakes should fork fine, if not, then repeat the bleeding process, ( the correct bleeding process right? ) and if that does'nt work, call the local brake shop and see what they have to say

thanks bearcat for your response..........

yep....kept the master full

i repeated the process again today (passenger side first of course!)
and had success - spoke to the ford dealer in my area and he said it takes a few times to get it right. plus, i was bleeding them by myself.

so i'm back on the road again.

thanx again
