My Taurus dome lights were staying on today. I lubed all the door latches / switches with WD-40. Solved the problem.... just thought I would post.... took a while for me to discover the solution.....

WD-40 is a water dispersal compound and will only work as a lubricant for a short time, then it will become gummy and attract dust. Lithium grease will last longer and it is also available in spray cans.

Someone should tell the folks at WD40 this and maybe they will shut down production.

I have a similar problem. When I examined the doors, I don't see any kind of switch like I'm used to seeing on other cars. Is it located behind the door panel or something?

The switch is located on the door itself, inside the door latch.

Thanks - Do I need to remove the latch, or simply spray lubricant into it directly?

Just spray lubricant directly into it, you might need to do it more than once.

after spraying the wd 40 in the latches, slam each door 5 to 10 times
to completly work the lubrication to the switch.seems to work for the
real stubborn ones.
