Fuel mileage on 4.0 HO 5spd

I just purchased a 94 Wrangler with 4.0 H0 fuel injected with 5spd. Getting 17-18 miles to gallon with new plugs. Is this all I should expect? I thought I might get a little higher!?

Depends on tires and gears. My wife and I got about 22-23 on the highway at moderate (60mph) speeds. Had the stock 225/75r15 tires and 3.07 gears.

That was in an 02, hardtop.

My '98 4.0 gets ~16mpg in town. Best I've seen is with hardtop, ~22mpg highway (65mpg with light trailer).
