Shake in slow hard turns

I have a '92 Cherokee Briarwood and when I make a slow turns, (like getting into parking spot etc.), not necessarily in 4x4, the car shakes, almost like the front wheels are binded.
Any one have an idea what can it be ?

Check your track bar, center link for freeplay, Stearing stabilizer for pressure, ball joints and wheel bearings for side to side motion. Alignment may be needed but it is not the prolbem. Good luck.

What size and type tires do you have on the front?

I would first make sure your T case is disengaged from 4x4, may need to pull the front shaft. Does the 92 have a vacuum motor that engages the front axle?

I also have the same problem, when turning sharp it seems to wobble from left to right as if it were in 4wd on dry pavement ( but its not) I just replaced the track bar and all the front end parts are good and tight. Its an 89 cherokee ltd, I am going to wait until I can get a trustworthy assistant that will turn it sharp in the driveway while I look underneath. I don't have the vacum unit on the front axel.

If your tie rods and balljoints are tight then I would look at your hub bearings, it sounds like you have the same issue as I do on my 00' XJ. I had replaced hub bearings, and all 4 ball joints and even had an alignment, I still have a bas cracking sound. Oh, just had a brain storm, replace your steering stabilizer shock, that may help. Out side of that the only thing left is the upper and lower control arm bushings.

I never thought to check the steering stabilizer, maybe its crap, could be the original,160,000 kilometers. Thanks for the info.
