94 Taurus not starting

Hello:

I have a 1994 Taurus GL and the car is turning over but just will not start. I have checked all the spark plugs and wires and all checks out okay there. I have checked the battery and terminals and the battery charge is excellent and terminals and cables are all clean and tight. I have also checked the fuses in the engine compartment and they all check out okay. So now I am wondering if this is a problem with the fuel pump as I have noticed that I no longer am getting the "low hum" just as I am about to start the vehicle as I used to get. Could someone please give me any other suggestions or thoughts on this and I got the car with no owners manual so if there are any other fuses to check please be specific. Also does anyone know, is the fuel pump located in the gas tank of the 94 Taurus? Is there anything that I could try to reset? Any suggestions and answers are appreciated.

Thank you

Sometimes it's hard to hear the fuel pump hum, but if you where hearing it before and you're not anymore, that would be a tell tale sign that your fuel pump is not working. It could be your fuel pump reset relay that's the problem. In your owners manual you should have a location for this relay. It's usually in the trunk on the driver's side behind the black panel/lining of your trunk.(not sure on your particular car Though).

With a wiring diagram you can then test for voltage getting to your relay and comming out of your relay.

Definately will check the voltage on that. I just went out to check for the reset switch and as stated it was in the trunk on the driver's side, it has a sticker on the trunk interior that says "refer to owners manual to reset fuel pump" and as I stated before I have no owner's manual. So I am not sure if this is something that I can try to reset myself and if it is then could somebody please tell me how to do it since I have no manual that I can refer to. Also still looking to find out if the fuel pump is in the gas tank on these vehicles.

Thank you again

There should be a flip open door or the panel should come off. Ther should be a squarish piece with wires coming out of it behind. On that box should be a push button. This is the reset button, push it, and if you hear it click it was probably reset. Hope this helps.
