96 Aurora. Here's one.... The temp gage is at 240 and it's not blowing any heat! It was a half a gallon low. The temp outside at the noon hour was -5.

Antifreeze

If your temp gauge reads 240, there is no heat...most likely (even though yoiu are low on coolant) the coolant mix is not correct and your cooling system is a block of ice...especially at -5

I just had the wife put the car in the garage with the heat on and wait till I get home to look at it.

The reason you were hot was being low, the reason for no heat was being low. If you rev it up you may get heat. Do you have a leak, or a blow a head gasket.

Check your oil if you have no leak. If your low enough on coolant your water pump won't work, therefore no heat.

Sounds like a blown head gasket or massive cooling system failure. Could potentially be a big problem. :(

Or you were so low on Antifreeze that the heater core emptied.

Well after this weekend... The car just sits at 240 degrees. It hasn't needed any water. As for being froze. I kept it in a heated garage and it's still doing the same thing.
