Hi-
I recently bought a 1992 Jeep YJ with a soft top and steel half doors. I have some different color inside plastic panels for the doors that I wanted to install but do not know how to go about doing it. Can anyone tell me what the round steel rods are coming out of the top holes in the panels, and how to get around them to install the new panels? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I have searched the net for days now with no luck...

Ok, I checked the Posi Lock and the shifter fork is in correctly. When the front is jacked up and the posi lock is engaged with 4wd I can spine one wheel with my hand and the other wheel spins the opposite direction. That means the front is engaged. I think the problem is the t-case will intermit not go into 4wd. Ever since I lifted all four wheels off the ground and ran the jeep in 4wd the t-case has worked everytime. I do feel a vibration when moving in 4wd with the clutch in. No vibration on accleration or decelleration. I still think I need a new t-case

Pardon? What does this have to do with removing the door panel from a steel half door?

It sounds like the "rods" you're talking about are the ends/bottom of the removable top half of the door. If it's like the later models, you should be able to grasp the frame of the window, pull straight up, and take the window off. This'll give you the access you need to change the panels.
To reinstall the top half of the door, start from the front, insert the rods one by one, and push the top portion back into place. If you check the owner's manual, it should have a description of the procedure.

Hey, no sweat. Have a good one. I take it you got the top half of the door removed.
