I just wanted to run a poll because I have recently been offered a chance to sell my 2000 Civic with a b18 c1 motor in it for a 1997 750 il. The bmw is a 5.4 L V-12 322 Hp. which would you prefer?

The BMW is obviously a much cooler car, but for me being young, I would keep the Civic with the B18 and do a few things. Think of the gas mileage in that Bimmer. However, if I'm not mistaken, your Civic hasn't been running well. If there are some major issues with it, trading might not be a bad idea. For me though, the B18 would do.

Those are two waaaay different cars. One: compact econobox with an engine from an acura. The other: sophisticated luxury sedan. It will have power, but it won't be quick. The Honda will be quick, though it won't have much power, even with the swap.

Bimmer. Most definately the Bimmer. But I'm biased.

BMW without a doubt, the b18 civic is just not fast enough to justify itself over it.

yea i do have problems with my civic right now and im thinking about rebuilding the engine...but this new offer for a 750 il is tempting...im still contemplating about what to get because i dont know much about bmw engines. Also...are there any mods i could get for the engine? i dont know im still 50/50 about what to get cause i like my civic because i can work on it and make it faster...ill post up pics for everyone of both cars when i learn how to do it since im new...thanks for everyones replies.

Yep. BMW motors are nice, strong reliable motors. And there is a decent after market out there for it. Just gotta look for them. Trust me, take the Bimmer. Look at it this wayif you need to->Would you rather have a fast, luxurious, sexy, prestigous BMW, or a could be fast, might be sexy after a while, wont be luxurious, and wont have the prestige that a German car will have Honda?

I'm a Civic guy, and to tell you.....TAKE THE HUGGIN BIMMER!!! Tell me, could you get a chick with your Civic, compared to how many chicks you can pick up with the bimmer? :naughty: . I would, hands down, take a bimmer over any Civic, any day, any time, any place, any moment of my life time. Late...

Im not the one to tell you I like bimmers, or hondas that much for that matter, out of those cars I would take the bimmer...No matter what you do to the honda it is still a 4cyl fwd econmey car(Unless you really mod it to hell).. the bimmer is a luxury car, Some may argue this but the bimmer might be more to mantain...That is the only thing I can really give to the honda...Besides fuel econmey...By no means am I dissing your civic, If it needs repair I would deff go for the bimmer.

B18, H22, B16c....it is still a damn Honda.
Get the Bimmer.
Edit: That may come off as "Honda hating", but was intended as a comparison only.

Indeed, the bimmer sounds nice. But don't forget that like somebody said here before, you will use a lot more fuel then you've experienced with the civic. And it stil is a heavy car that 750. But you are going to like it trust me :naughty:

Also, they may not be an ///M, but those 750ils can still get up and move, 'specially when you need them too. And they respond great to driver input.

The Bimmer's the better car. Gas mileage and repair/maintainance costs would deter me from buying doing the trade though. As well, a B18C1 in a Civic SHOULD be able to compete with the BMW, probably beat it down low...yours I don't know, because it's not working right. Just list your own pros and cons of each, and then make a decision based on YOUR preferences.

No question, I would take the BMW.

You shouldn't even think twice about this one, and I think you already know the answer.

The BMW, no question. Even though those have a curb weight of 4,498 lbs.
