I have an 89 Blazer 4.3 4x4 that a week after I bought dropped a rod.I put a new motor in the problem is, it is a 93 4.3 tbi out of an astro. My old engine was v-belts...the new once has a serpentine. I had to switch pulleys and the fan over from my old motor. I know that the fan spins in the oppostie direction on a sepentine and v-belt, but I put the water pump off the v belt motor on the serpentine. Would this mean my water pump is spinning in the wrong direction causing me to over heat or constantly run above half the temperature gauge? Because either I am over heating or I am on the hash mark just below over heating unless it is freezing outside...but if I gun the motor once or twice my temperature will go down from over heating...I am stumped...any inquiries would help me a lot thank you.

You need to match the pump and fan to the proper belt. They are both direction sensitive.
